The Abingdon Abbey Buildings Trust owns and manages the remains of the Abingdon Abbey on behalf of the community. We are looking to recruit a small number of wedding stewards to help us manage events at the Abbey Buildings.
Wedding stewards will be responsible for overseeing weddings held at buildings. These typically are held on Saturdays with a get-in on Fridays and must-have vacated the buildings by 13:00 on Sunday.
The stewards will be paid £200 to act as the Trust’s representative during the two and half days of the booking.
Attendance is required on: Friday morning to welcome and brief the wedding party; on the day of the wedding to attend the ceremony as the Trust, as licensee, has to attend each ceremony; on Saturday evening to ensure all guests have left by 23:30 and the buildings are locked up by midnight; and on Sunday midday to ensure that the buildings have left in a good state and that all equipment is removed by 13:00.
