The Abingdon Monk’s Map

The Monk’s Map of Abingdon, which can be seen at the Abingdon County Hall Museum, was originally believed to have been made by a monk from Abingdon Abbey in the 15th century. However, recent research suggests that it was commissioned by the Blacknall family in the 16th century for use in a lawsuit over disputed milling and fishing rights.
